The 2022 series of the popular dating show has resulted in social media backlash about the way the male contestants treat their female counterparts.

The UK-based charity said producers of the series had shared details of the training given to contestants around appropriate behaviour but information about abusive relationships and “an understanding of controlling behaviour in relationships,” seemed to be missing from the training, said the charity’s communications chief Teresa Parker.

“It is vital that producers know when to intervene and challenge unacceptable behaviour.”
