The body of Jacob Ramsay, 33, was found at a rural South Taranaki property on Sunday.

His wife Sarah Ramsay was at a midwife appointment in Waikato on Monday when her phone buzzed. A police officer was on the line.
Brother David Tasker was in the room and watched her break down – clutching her chest – as the words came through the ether.
“She was instantly heartbroken by the news and is struggling to come to terms with the situation.”
Jacob’s body had been discovered on a coastal farm in Taranaki, at an Upper Kina Rd address in Oaonui, about 8.40am on Sunday.
A 39-year-old now faces charges of murder and kidnapping, while an 18-year-old is accused of murder.

The pair had been together for seven years, and were married last year.
They have two sons – Lucus, 11, and Hunter, 5, with a third son Olliver due in six weeks.
“The loss of Jacob is unfathomable, as their children will now grow up without him,” Tasker said in a family statement.

The homicide investigation took place on a farm in South Taranaki in Oaonui on Kina Rd.
“Sarah has lost her husband, the love of her life, and now has a hole in her heart from the loss of Jacob.”
Tasker said Jacob, 33, had been a farmworker for the last 10 years to support his family and “now that support has been lost forever”.
“Sarah has strong support from her whānau and friends, and wishes to thank everyone for their messages of love and support,” Tasker said.
While two men were charged with his murder on Wednesday, police were still trying to establish a timeline tracking Jacob’s movements on July 29.
Detective Inspector Brent Matuku said police wanted to hear from anyone who saw or heard an altercation involving Ramsay in the Oakura township, or near the cemetery, which is accessible at the end of Butler’s Lane.
“We also want to talk to anyone who saw a silver-coloured 2005 Peugeot station wagon in Oakura at that time, or may have noticed it travelling in the coastal area on that Friday evening.”
