Hello all My swiss in-laws and I had 1st of august BBQ celebration at our house in Entlebuch last night (31th July) and we waited until 12 to blow 60 seconds of fireworks.
At 00:01 from the first of August our neighbor came to complain about the noise. She unfriendly argued, we live in a residencial area and fireworks „geht nicht“ . We explained to her that it is normal to blow fireworks on this occasion and she said no . She claimed that it is stupid and disrespectful. And that fireworks are only allowed during midday . She continued to complain and „forbid us „ to blow fireworks during the day and threatened to call the police while demanding apologies.
From what we read on the internet , it is allowed . In-laws are also sure but are not familiar with law. What’s more, some people in the area were doing the same . And our canton (LU) didn’t forbid them this year.
What are your experiences with this kind of situations?
Is there any rule limiting the time at which fireworks can be used?
