Hi,
Expat here, living in Switzerland about 2 years now. Long enough to know that generally bitching about prices is useless 😁 but this is a special case.
I got my yearly utilities and heating bill (heiz und Nebenkostenabrechnung) through recently from May 2021-May 2022 and it’s insane. To compare, the one I got last year which I kept was under 100 from 2020 to 2021. This one was over 1,300CHF.
Obviously we all know there’s a lot going on in the world right now and in general these things go up rather than down. My question is, is there a way to fact-check or argue this? The whole-building breakdown was sent with the bill as usual and I can see increases in general but this is a big chunk of money I wasn’t expecting at the moment and I feel we should have been warned at least so that we could prepare for it if it’s unavoidable?
All opinions and advice welcome, I know I’m probably shit out of luck but worth a try. For reference I live alone in a typical 2.5 bed in Lucerne and have pretty typical utility usage, not running showers all day or anything. Thanks!
