Bonjour tout le monde et bienvenue à bord chers abonnés de Instagram @flyswiss. My name is Damien, I am 25 years old and I will be your Instagrammer of the month.
I have been working at SWISS in Geneva for four years now and I am living my dream job. I am trained on the latest aircraft type within the company, the A220, but also on the A330 with which we operate New York flights directly from Geneva. Aviation is one of my big passions ever since my childhood and as a Swiss citizen, I am proud to work for the airline of Switzerland and to connect it to the world.
I was born in Geneva and I live in the city centre. In addition to my Swiss roots, some Italian can also be seen by my family name, from my father’s side. My mother comes from Gruyères, in the canton of Fribourg, where the most famous Swiss cheese is made.
Before working as a cabin crew member, I did an apprenticeship as a baker at “Boulangerie Wolfisberg” in Carouge. I am very thankful for this experience because this is my second big passion. Talking about what I like: I also love taking pictures. And to further improve my language skills, I did some language courses in the UK and also in Germany before applying at SWISS.
As a Geneva local, I will tell you some fun facts and give you tips for great places to see in the city and in the Western part of Switzerland (also called “Romandie”) – but also about other places in the world I like to visit. So maybe I can inspire you with some “wanderlust”.
