Hello people,

I am gathering information regarding the possibility of starting a side business (or side hustle if you prefer) involving pizza baking, a long-lived passion of mine that evolved into an obsession.

So here’s the thing. I have a full time job, that I do intend to keep, at least for now.

My goal would be to:

  • Occasionally (a few weekends/days per month) bake and sell a few Neapolitan pizzas;

  • Make some money and be happy with it, without wanting to open a restaurant, or at least not now.

What kind of options do I have, considering that I do not have any kind of professional license?

Initial thoughts:

  1. Buying a food truck and selling my product around the entire country. Not even sure what I am allowed to do legally, if I need a restaurant license (which seems to be a no go), or if it’s legally easy to do so? Even then, where would I be allowed to operate?

  2. Baking pizzas at my place and selling them. It seems legal, but I would still require a dedicated kitchen from my understanding to get the license, and the landlord would need to approve (highly unlikely)

  3. Renting a spot at some open bar or similar activity that is already licensed, and go there with my food cart. Maybe the easiest option, but I feel that in the end I would work for free (almost).

Does anyone have any suggestion?

Thanks a lot!
