SH25 between Kuaotunu and Whitianga has been closed due to a slip.
The wet and wild weather conditions that have battered the country have forced the closure of a number of Coromandel roads.
A large slip on 309 Rd is blocking the road about 5km from the SH25 intersection, the Thames Cormandel District Council said.
It’s expected it could be reopened around 4pm on Tuesday.
Hikuai Settlement Rd remains closed at both ends. There are two sets of power lines down. Temporary traffic management will remain in place until it is safe to carry out work to open the road, also expected to be around 4pm.
