Swimming: Women’s 200m freestyle S14 final

Three Englishwomen, three Australians and a Northern Irishwoman dive into a pool…

Jade Lucy, Maddie McTernan and Ruby Storm are representing Australia in this one.

World record holder Bethany Firth is there for Northern Ireland and she gets gold comfortably from England’s Jessica-Jane Applegate.

Louise Fiddes gets bronze for England.

So that’s two finals in a row without medals for Australia.

Athletics: Rohan Browning’s flying mullet flies right into the 100m final!

Good morning Australia — and what a good morning indeed — Rohan Browning is through to the final of the men’s 100m in Birmingham.

He came home second in his semi-final with a time of 10:17 after earlier winning the first heat — and that’s enough to automatically qualify for a shot at a medal.

Fellow Aussie Jake Doran has raced in the second semi — he flew down the track in 10.40 but hasn’t gone quite quick enough to qualify for the final.

Aussie Charisma Amoe Tarrant, who represented Nauru in 2018, has won a bronze medal in the women’s 87kg+ by just 1 kilogram from Canada’s Emma Friesen.

The Aussie’s snatch lift of 100kg had her sixth head into the clean and jerk, six kg behind Friesen.

So she simply lifted 139kg, seven kilos more than the Canadian, in the clean and jerk to claim the rose gold.
