Boulder blocks highway linking West Coast, Christchurch to Nelson – صحيفة الصوت

A major road linking the West Coast to Christchurch and Nelson has been temporarily closed following a rock the size of a small car blocking the highway.

State Highway 6 is currently closed between the intersection of State Highway 65 and Hinehaka Rd due to a large rockfall.

The rockfall took place at Dellows Bluff near Buller River and Hinehaka Rd, west of Murchison.

The early morning slip saw cars trapped on the road unable to pass the large rocks, one of which was estimated to be the size of a small car.
