Australia’s Kelsey-Lee Barber has become the first woman in history to successfully defend her javelin gold medal at the World Athletics Championships.
An incredible throw of 66.91, her best of the season, was enough to hold off a competitive pack and claim a second successive crown.
Fellow Aussie Mackenzie Little was in medal range for much of the event but fell to fifth, despite a personal best throw of 63.22.
More to come.
