Sarpreet Singh will return to Jahn Regensburg on loan next season after extending his Bayern Munich deal.
All Whites midfielder Sarpreet Singh has received a timely boost ahead of the upcoming European football season after having his contract with German giants Bayern Munich extended through to 2024.
The 23-year-old former Wellington Phoenix star will be loaned out to Jahn Regensburg for the 2022-23 campaign, the second-tier club where he flourished last season before being sidelined with a troublesome pelvic injury.
Singh signed for six-time European champions Bayern in 2019 having starred for New Zealand at the Under-20 World Cup in Poland.

He went on to make two appearances for the Bavarian outfit, before being loaned out to then-Bundesliga side FC Nürnberg for the 2020/21 season.
However, that unsuccessful spell was cut short after only six starts and he was subsequently loaned out to Jahn Regensburg for the following campaign.
Singh scored five goals and made eight assists in 25 league games for the club, only to suffer season-ending injury that ruled him out of the All Whites’ narrow World Cup playoff loss to Costa Rica last month.
His last appearance came in a 1-1 draw with Hannover 96 in April.
Prior to that one-off playoff tie in the Qatari capital Doha, which New Zealand lost 1-0, Singh had been strongly linked with a move to newly-promoted Werder Bremen, where his mentor Wynton Rufer enjoyed the most fruitful years of his career.
But that deal fell through amid concerns over his injury status and Singh will no doubt be relieved that Bayern have shown enough faith in his ability to keep him on their books for another two years.
Singh will hope to continue his rapid development at Jahn Regensburg in order to force his way into Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann’s plans.
Despite guiding the team to a 10th successive Bundesliga title last term, the 35-year-old manager is under pressure after a shock Champions League exit to Villarreal in the quarterfinals.
Bayern have already signed striker Sadio Mane from Liverpool and centre-back Matthijs de Light from Juventus this summer, while star forward Robert Lewandowski departed for Barcelona.
Having been in the promotion hunt early in the season, Jahn Regensburg suffered a remarkable form slump that saw them finish 15th on the 18-team ladder.
After joining the Wellington Phoenix Academy in 2015, Singh made his A-League debut two years later and went on to play 39 games for the club, scoring nine goals.
