Another Australian is joining Scottish football giants Celtic, with Socceroos midfielder Aaron Mooy confirmed as the club’s latest signing.

In an announcement that included the signing of German defender Moritz Jenz, it was revealed that 31-year-old Mooy, who has played for Huddersfield Town and Brighton & Hove Albion, and was previously with Chinese outfit Shanghai Port would arrive on a free transfer for a two-year deal.

He reunites with Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou, who was previously in charge of the Australia team, as well as ex-Socceroos star Harry Kewell, who recently joined the coaching staff.

“I obviously know Aaron from my time coaching the Australian national team, and he brings with him a wealth of experience at both club and international level,” Postecoglou said.

Celtic won the Scottish Premiership last season for their 52nd top-flight league crown.

Mooy said he was looking forward to pulling on the famous green and white hoops of a club with “huge history”.
